Dictionary!

Use the following to decode any crazy words/jargon I've used throughout this blog: 


Field (n) the mission field...aka the area that you are in. Not a corn field; those days are over. Sorry Ickynois. 

Gospel (n) The gospel is what is referred to when talking about Christ's teachings=what He taught while He was here on the earth. Jesus Christ was a real life person-check him out in the history books!

              Q: But Sister Abeling, how can you be Mormon and not from Utah?!
              A: It's true.. i'm a mutant. It is possible. In fact, I don't even like Utah all that                                much*shhhh don't tell   the Prophet.  In fact, there's LDS people ALL OVER THE                   WORLD. mind blown? mine too(;

Investigator (n)A person who is taking missionary discussions and interested in learning more. Doesn't even have to commit to being baptized. I'm not a fan of this word but I haven't found something better to use... suggestions welcome (:

LDS (n) Latter-Day Saint (short for the Church of Jesus Christ (insert breathe) Of Latter-Day Saints...see why we like to use LDS?? much easier on the lungs)

MTC: Missionary Training Center- also known as my home for the first 6 weeks of my mission

Spirit (n) "The third member of the Godhead meaning a separate personage from God (Heavenly Father), Jesus Christ (God's begotten son), and The Spirit. He's referred to sometimes as the Holy Ghost" (True to the Faith- good book that defines basically everything Gospel related)  

Stake (n) I know... I wish it was a steak too.. mmmm. But its just a larger area of wards. The church is organized (for as is God) so depending on where you live it can determines the particular

Utah | yoo-ta| (n) Place of many Mormons.

Ward (n)  nope...NOT a psyche ward. Just another word for congregation.
